Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development and President of Masters Energy Group, Dr. Uche Ogah, has extended warm felicitations to children across Abia State and Nigeria as the nation marks this year’s Children’s Day celebration.
In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Wednesday, Dr. Ogah described children as the “greatest treasure of every society,” stressing that the future of Nigeria depends largely on the quality of care, education, protection, and moral guidance given to them today.
He praised the resilience, brilliance, and talents of Nigerian children despite prevailing economic and social challenges, noting that many young Nigerians continue to distinguish themselves in academics, sports, technology, arts, and leadership.
According to him, Children’s Day serves as a strong reminder to governments, parents, teachers, religious institutions, and community leaders to prioritize the welfare and development of every child.
Dr. Ogah particularly celebrated children in Abia State for their intelligence, creativity, discipline, and determination to succeed, expressing confidence that the state’s younger generation would play critical roles in building a prosperous and globally competitive Abia.
He urged children to remain focused on their education, shun negative influences, respect their parents, and continue believing in themselves and their dreams.
“Every great nation is built on the foundation of properly nurtured children. Our duty as adults is to create opportunities and a safe environment where every child can grow, learn, and achieve greatness,” he stated.
The business leader and philanthropist also reaffirmed his commitment to youth and child development through educational support, mentorship, and empowerment initiatives aimed at securing a better future for the next generation.
He concluded by wishing all children in Abia State and across Nigeria a joyful, memorable, and inspiring Children’s Day celebration.
