Abuja, Nigeria – Monday, July 14, 2025

The immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has joined other prominent Nigerians in mourning the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died earlier yesterday at the age of 82.

In a heartfelt condolence message released through his media office, Engr. Orji expressed sorrow over the death of the former Nigerian leader and says it is “a national loss that leaves a vacuum in the nation’s moral and leadership compass.”

He described the late President Buhari as a man of discipline and unwavering patriotism who served Nigeria with a deep sense of national purpose.

“I commiserate with the immediate family who shared him with the nation, while i stand with President Bola Tinubu and the entire nation as we mourn this elder statesman. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.

President Buhari is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, according to Islamic rites. National mourning activities have been declared, and flags will fly at half-mast across the country in his honor.
