ASIS International to Host Major Security Conference in Lagos to Tackle Africa’s Emerging Threats

The Lagos Chapter of ASIS International, a global community of security professionals, has announced plans to convene top security leaders and innovators from across Africa at a major conference aimed at addressing critical security challenges such as terrorism, cyber threats, and regional instability.

Chairman of ASIS International Lagos Chapter 206, Adedeji Oduba, disclosed during a media briefing on Saturday that the Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference (SASCON) 2025 will take place from July 22 to 23 in Lagos, Nigeria. He described the event as a key platform for fostering collaboration and crafting forward-thinking strategies to combat growing security threats in Africa.

Organised by ASIS Lagos Chapter 206, the event will unite leading voices in cybersecurity, law enforcement, intelligence, industrial security, and infrastructure protection. Themed “Strategic Approaches to Security in Complex Africa,” the conference aims to promote knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and technological innovation in response to the continent’s rapidly evolving security landscape.

The two-day conference will feature keynote speeches from government officials, private sector leaders, and international security experts. Attendees will participate in panel discussions on topics such as terrorism, cyber threats, border security, infrastructure protection, and fintech vulnerabilities. A concurrent tech exhibition will showcase the latest security tools and innovations. With over 500 participants expected daily from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Côte d’Ivoire, and other nations, the event is set to foster regional cooperation and strengthen professional security standards through the ASIS framework.
