Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has dismissed any possibility of joining former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President David Mark in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting he remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking in a television interview on Sunday, the Benue South senator said he is not swayed by what he described as “politics of gang-ups and shenanigans,” adding that he sees no reason to leave the PDP despite its internal challenges.

“I am comfortable in the PDP and have no intention of leaving,” Moro declared.

The former minister maintained that while some party members have opted to switch platforms in pursuit of power, he prefers to stay and work toward rebuilding the PDP and holding the ruling party accountable.

“Those who have joined ADC have chosen to find another platform to wrest power from the ruling party. How far they can go is uncertain. But I am not following them,” he said.

On his decision not to align with Atiku and Mark despite longstanding political ties, Moro said, “The reality is that I’m not going with them. I am committed to staying in PDP and contributing to fixing the party. Others have their reasons for leaving, but I’m not one of them.”

He added that some departures may actually be beneficial for the PDP, suggesting that certain individuals may have contributed to the current crisis within the party.

Responding to questions on Atiku’s exit, Moro noted that it was not entirely unexpected.

“I never really thought Atiku would leave, but politics is the art of the possible. For a while now, Atiku has been absent from PDP activities. Those of us active in the party’s organs like NEC and BoT saw it coming,” he said.
