The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has expressed confidence in its prospects for the 2027 general elections, despite what it describes as smear campaigns by opposition parties aimed at undermining its reform agenda.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Seye Oladejo, criticized a recent press release by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) titled “No Patriotic Nigerian Will Vote for APC in 2027,” calling it politically charged and intentionally misleading.

Oladejo said the statement lacked objectivity and substance, and dismissed it as the desperate outburst of a “tottering, disjointed, and moribund” opposition. “The APC firmly rejects this attempt to distort public perception and misrepresent the millions of patriotic Nigerians who support our party,” he stated.

Looking ahead to 2027, Oladejo stressed that Nigerians will evaluate political parties based on their track records, leadership capacity, and sincerity—not on propaganda or emotional rhetoric. “By these standards, the APC will stand tall,” he said.

He noted that patriotism transcends political affiliation and is better defined by a commitment to national unity, peace, progress, and democratic principles. According to him, the APC has consistently demonstrated such values through major reforms in infrastructure, the digital economy, social investment, and agricultural development—achievements he said even the party’s critics cannot deny.

“To claim that no patriotic Nigerian would vote for the APC in 2027 is not only presumptuous but an insult to the intelligence of Nigerian voters,” Oladejo added. “Nigerians are thoughtful and understand that governance is a dynamic, evolving process that requires vision, patience, and adaptability.”

While welcoming robust political debate and constructive criticism, the APC spokesperson rejected any suggestion that patriotism should be monopolized by any party or measured by political loyalty alone.
