The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) to combat rising security challenges in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This was disclosed by the FCT NSCDC Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, during a courtesy visit by the newly deployed State Director of the DSS, Usman Dauda, to the NSCDC FCT Command headquarters in Abuja.
Odumosu emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing insecurity, stressing that no single security outfit possesses a monopoly on strategies or solutions.
“There is no security agency with a monopoly of strategy. We must rely on each other to achieve better results in our quest to secure lives and property,” Odumosu said in a statement issued by Acting Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSC Monica Ojobi.
He noted that the NSCDC has enjoyed longstanding cooperation with the DSS and other sister security agencies, describing Dauda’s visit as a move that further consolidates the ongoing synergy among them.
Odumosu pledged maximum cooperation with the DSS in intelligence sharing and joint security operations, assuring that both agencies would continue to work together to ensure peace and order in the territory.
In response, DSS State Director Usman Dauda described the visit as a step toward strengthening operational collaboration, lauding the NSCDC for its contributions to national security.
Dauda noted that the NSCDC, as empowered by its enabling Act, plays a vital role in closing the national security gap and that collective efforts from all stakeholders are essential for lasting peace and stability.
He assured the NSCDC of continued support and partnership from the DSS in intelligence-driven operations and other joint efforts aimed at safeguarding the FCT.
