In a decisive move against child trafficking, the Anambra State Government has shut down a suspected baby factory operating in the state and rescued a total of 15 victims, including five pregnant teenagers.

The rescue operation, carried out by security operatives in collaboration with officials from the state’s Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, followed credible intelligence about illegal activities at the facility.

According to reports, the raid led to the arrest of key operators of the illegal home, while the rescued victims, including underage girls, are now in the custody of the state government receiving care and rehabilitation.

Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, who confirmed the incident, vowed that the government would not tolerate any form of human trafficking or abuse of minors in the state.

She assured that the rescued girls would be provided with adequate medical attention, counseling, and long-term support, while the perpetrators would face the full weight of the law.

Obinabo further appealed to the public to report suspicious activities or locations linked to trafficking or child exploitation, noting that the government remains committed to protecting vulnerable groups across Anambra State.
