The Yoruba Ni Colorado (YNC), an umbrella body for all Yoruba people in Colorado, USA, has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating firmly that there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock” in 2027. The group made this declaration during a courtesy visit to the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in Abuja on Tuesday.

YNC President, Dr. Adetola Obiwole, said the delegation was in Nigeria with a medical outreach team to serve underserved communities. She urged the National Assembly to accelerate constitutional amendments that would enable Nigerians in the diaspora to participate in future elections through diaspora voting.

“We reaffirm our unwavering support for President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We also call on the National Assembly to fast-track legislation that will allow Nigerians abroad to vote,” Dr. Obiwole stated.

Speaking during the visit, YNC’s General Secretary, Prince George Sotade, emphasized the solidarity of Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly the Yoruba community, with the President.

“There is no need for lengthy debates—there is no vacancy in the Villa. Anyone running around is only helping to boost our vote count for Asiwaju. The TSG is doing a commendable job rallying support for him,” he said.

In his response, Director General of the TSG, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, thanked the YNC for their continued support and efforts to give back to Nigeria. He commended their dedication and noted that many Nigerians abroad remain patriotic and contribute positively to their home country, despite negative perceptions caused by a few individuals.

Yakasai also encouraged diaspora medical professionals to create advanced mentorship programs for young Nigerian doctors, in a bid to curb the rising trend of medical tourism. He further urged the diaspora community to return home to vote, stressing that every vote matters.

He acknowledged YNC’s previous support during the 2023 elections and lauded their consistency and commitment to national development.
