Former Deputy Governor of Abia State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, has declared that Governor Alex Otti has earned a second term through his impressive developmental strides across the state.

Oko Chukwu made the remark while speaking to journalists after a closed-door meeting with Governor Otti. He lauded the Governor’s achievements, describing them as transformative and unprecedented in Abia’s recent history.

“Let me tell you, I’ve toured Abia State, especially our area in Abia North, and the road infrastructure there is simply unprecedented,” Oko Chukwu said. “This goes beyond politics and propaganda — the facts speak for themselves. The improvements are remarkable.”

He praised Governor Otti’s deliberate and focused approach to governance, citing significant progress in infrastructure, healthcare, sports, and sanitation.

“Whether it’s roads, healthcare, or sports, you can see the Governor has been very intentional. From Aba to Umuahia, the level of cleanliness is something we’ve never witnessed before,” he added.

Describing Otti’s infrastructural projects across Abia North, Aba, and Umuahia as “revolutionary,” the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly said the Governor’s efforts had won the admiration and support of stakeholders and statesmen across party lines.

“We came to commend and appreciate him for the giant strides he has made in just two years. With what he has achieved already, it’s clear he has earned a second term,” he stressed.

On the growing wave of political realignments in the state, Oko Chukwu confirmed that he may join those shifting towards Governor Otti’s Labour Party.

“They’re realigning, and it’s very possible that some of us may join. If I decide to do that, I’ll let the public know. I’ll invite all of you when the time comes,” he concluded.
