The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, on Friday decorated 60 newly promoted officers, including Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), Inspectors, and other ranks, during a ceremony held at the Command headquarters.

The decoration was followed by the monthly Command’s strategic conference at the officers’ mess, where CP Isa commended the dedication and efforts of officers, especially the tactical units. He attributed the Command’s recent operational successes to their professionalism and resilience.

“We have recorded significant achievements, and this is due to the professionalism and resilience of officers of the Command,” the CP said.

Addressing the officers, Isa shared key takeaways from the recent Inspector-General of Police’s conference, emphasizing the importance of integrity, professionalism, intelligence-led policing, and timely response to security issues. He highlighted improvements in the welfare of retired officers and stressed the need to maintain the confidentiality of official documents.

The CP also urged personnel to prioritize their physical and mental well-being while intensifying intelligence gathering efforts. He warned against unethical conduct, including the extortion of motorists through unwarranted checks on vehicle documents.

“Avoid unprofessional practices such as unnecessary inspection of vehicle particulars with the view to extorting money from unsuspecting victims,” he cautioned.

Isa further condemned over-detention, corruption, and all forms of misconduct, charging Heads of Departments (HODs) to exercise effective oversight of their teams and maintain security in their respective Areas of Responsibility (AORs).

The conference concluded with a special session on “Life After Retirement,” facilitated by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration, ACP Enahoro George, and the Command’s Pension Officer.
