The political landscape in Abia State is witnessing fresh realignments as former Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of Ndi Elu Ward, Nkporo, in Ohafia Local Government Area, Oko Chukwu stated that his decision to leave the party is effective immediately.
“I write to formally inform you of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” he wrote. “You may wish to note that I am resigning due to personal reasons.”
While describing the decision as a difficult one, Oko Chukwu noted that it was the best course of action for him at this time. He expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunity to serve in various capacities during his time with the party.
“I am most grateful for the opportunities the party availed me to serve at various levels and appreciate the experience and knowledge gained during my membership,” he said.
He concluded the letter by thanking the party leadership for their support and wished them well in their future endeavors.
