Governor Oyebanji Dissolves Ekiti Cabinet, Retains Key Officials

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council. The decision was made public through a statement issued late Sunday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro.

All affected Commissioners and Special Advisers have been directed to hand over responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Governor Oyebanji expressed his appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service and wished them well in their future pursuits.

However, the statement clarified that the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice is not affected by the dissolution. Also retained are the Commissioners for Health and Human Services; Agriculture and Food Security; Education; Works; and Trade, Investment, Industry, and Cooperatives. Special Advisers on Special Education and Social Inclusion, as well as Lands, Survey, and e-GIS, were also exempted.

Furthermore, all Directors General who are part of the Executive Council will remain in office. These include the DG of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the DG of SDGs and Project Monitoring, and the DG of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
