Abuja–Kaduna Train Service Resumes October 1

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that train operations along the Abuja–Kaduna corridor will resume on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

According to a statement signed by Callistus Unyimadu, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, the resumption follows the completion of repairs and safety checks on the section of track affected by the August 26 derailment at Asham Station.

The corporation assured passengers of its commitment to safety and comfort, while apologising for the disruption caused by the suspension of services.

Meanwhile, the NRC disclosed that refunds have been processed for 512 out of the 583 passengers on board the ill-fated train.
