The people of Dunukofia Local Government Area in Anambra State have thrown their full support behind Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, endorsing him for a second term ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election. The endorsement took place on Friday during a grand rally held at the LGA headquarters in Ukpo, which coincided with the community’s annual New Yam Festival, “Iweife-Ubi.”

Thousands of residents, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, APGA supporters, and community leaders attended the event, where the people also made cash donations to support the governor’s re-election campaign. Governor Soludo, his wife Dr. Nonye Soludo, and Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim were warmly received by the enthusiastic crowd.

In his address, Soludo expressed gratitude to the people of Dunukofia for their unwavering support during his 2021 election and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transformative governance. He highlighted notable achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security, including the employment of over 8,000 teachers and the improvement of public school facilities. The governor also inaugurated the Dunukofia legislative building, describing it as a testament to effective local governance under his leadership.
