The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended two men, identified as Azeez Lamidi and Oyewole Adamolekun, for allegedly defiling and impregnating their biological daughters in separate incidents across the state. Both suspects were taken into custody following credible reports and medical confirmation of the abuse.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, Lamidi, a resident of Ogbagi Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, was arrested for impregnating his 14-year-old daughter and attempting to terminate the pregnancy by administering abortion-inducing drugs. The case was reported on October 9, 2025, after a neighbor, identified as Salami, raised the alarm when the teenager began bleeding profusely. Medical officials confirmed that the girl had undergone a drug-induced abortion, and she has since been transferred to the State Specialist Hospital, Igbatoro, for further medical treatment.

In a related incident, 45-year-old Adamolekun was arrested in Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue Area of Odigbo Local Government Area, for allegedly having a long-term incestuous relationship with his 15-year-old daughter, which resulted in pregnancy. A resident, Mr. Julius Olusola, reported the matter to the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters, prompting officers to act swiftly. A subsequent medical examination confirmed that the victim was 19 weeks pregnant, and the suspect confessed during interrogation to having abused her since she was three years old.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, has directed that both cases be transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for thorough investigation and prosecution. He condemned the increasing cases of sexual abuse and incest, assuring the public that the suspects would face the full weight of the law and that justice would be served for the victims.
