NELFUND Warns Public Against Fake Student Loan Registration Link

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a warning to the public over a fake message circulating online, falsely claiming that the Student Loan Registration Portal is currently open. The misleading message urges applicants to register through a suspicious third-party link, which the agency has confirmed is neither authorised nor connected to its operations.

According to an advisory posted on NELFUND’s official X handle on Tuesday, the fraudulent link—http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan—poses a security risk, and the public is strongly advised not to click on it or submit any personal information. The Fund reiterated that all legitimate loan applications can only be accessed via its verified platforms.

NELFUND urged students and the general public to remain vigilant and to disregard any unofficial messages or links claiming to originate from the organisation. It also encouraged individuals to report suspicious online activity that appears to impersonate the agency.

The Fund emphasised that applicants should always rely on NELFUND’s official website and social media pages for accurate information. This warning forms part of the organisation’s broader efforts to protect students and uphold the credibility of the student loan process.
