A Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on three out of seven terrorism-related charges filed against him by the Federal Government.

The judgment, delivered on Thursday by Justice James Omotosho, affirmed that the prosecution presented sufficient evidence linking Kanu to actions considered a threat to national security. According to Okay News, the court relied heavily on video recordings tendered as exhibits, in which Kanu was seen issuing violent threats against Nigeria and its citizens.

Justice Omotosho stated that the content of the videos met the legal threshold required to establish guilt on the charges for which Kanu was convicted.

The case has now progressed to the next stage of legal proceedings, and further updates are expected as the matter continues.
