Robert Irwin, son of the late wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, has won the US edition of Dancing with the Stars, a decade after his sister Bindi claimed the Mirror Ball trophy.

The 21-year-old wildlife presenter and conservationist, paired with professional dancer Witney Carson, impressed judges and audiences alike with his performances, overcoming a rib injury to deliver flawless routines. He competed against influencer Alix Earle, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, actor Elaine Hendrix, and Dylan Efron. Irwin ultimately secured victory through combined judges’ scores and audience votes.

Irwin’s journey on the show was deeply personal. He paid tribute to his mother, Terri Irwin, with a contemporary routine, and honoured his late father with a foxtrot to Footprints in the Sand, joined by Bindi on stage. He described the performance as “healing” and said he hoped his father would be proud.

Since the win, Irwin has continued to expand his career, including hosting I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in 2024 and earning a Gold Logie nomination. He has also made headlines for his viral Bond’s campaign featuring Australian wildlife.

Dancing with the Stars, now in its 34th season, continues to draw millions of viewers, with Irwin’s performances generating significant international attention on social media.
