Former Anambra Lawmaker Lawrence Ezeudu Leaves APC for ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Lawrence Ezeudu, a former member and Chief Whip of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ezeudu announced his decision at an event in his hometown, where he was formally welcomed into the ADC and handed over his new party membership card. He cited ongoing divisions and leadership challenges within the APC as reasons for his departure, saying the party could no longer effectively serve the needs of his constituents.

Describing the ADC as a platform more aligned with his vision for public service, Ezeudu expressed confidence that the party is better positioned to drive political and social change in Anambra State and the South-East region.

ADC leaders present at the event praised Ezeudu’s defection and vowed to leverage it to strengthen the party’s influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
