Over 1.2 Million Nigerians Complete Voter Registration in Ongoing INEC Exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 1.2 million eligible citizens have successfully completed the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process in the current phase of the nationwide exercise.

The figure reflects the number of people who have fully enrolled in Week Six of the second phase of CVR, marking a noticeable increase from totals recorded in previous weeks. Registrants include those who began their applications online and finalized the process at physical registration points across the country.

State breakdowns show that several regions have recorded high participation levels, with some states leading in terms of new voter numbers. The demographic spread also highlights strong engagement from young Nigerians and an increasing number of female voters choosing to register.

INEC reiterated that the CVR exercise remains ongoing nationwide as part of preparations for future elections, encouraging all eligible citizens who have not yet registered to take part before the scheduled deadline.
