FG Announces Two-Day Public Holiday for Easter Observance

The Federal Government has approved a two-day nationwide holiday to commemorate the upcoming Easter festivities, setting aside Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, for the celebration.

The announcement was conveyed through a statement issued by Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

In his message, the minister extended warm greetings to Christians across Nigeria and abroad, encouraging them to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and reconciliation that defines the season.

He further urged citizens to uphold national unity and peaceful coexistence, reiterating the administration’s dedication to advancing economic development and fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society.
