Nigeria’s rising table tennis prospect, Junior Aruna, has made a strong statement on the international stage after a standout performance at the WTT Youth Contender event held in Luxembourg.
The young athlete, who is the son of renowned African table tennis champion Quadri Aruna, impressed across different junior categories, showcasing skill and composure beyond his years.
Competing in the boys’ U-13 singles, he battled his way to the semifinals where he eventually secured a bronze medal after a competitive run through the early rounds.
He also featured in the U-11 category and reached the final, where he finished with a silver medal following a closely fought contest against Bulgaria’s Slav Zhelyazkov.
His performances across both events highlighted his steady progress and growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s brightest young talents in table tennis.
The results in Luxembourg further underline his potential as he continues to build experience on the international circuit.
