UN Raises Alarm as Sudan Drone Strikes Kill Hundreds of Civilians in Escalating War

The United Nations has expressed deep concern over a sharp rise in drone attacks across Sudan, warning that the ongoing conflict is driving a growing civilian death toll.

According to UN findings, hundreds of civilians have been killed this year alone as drone strikes intensify in several regions, particularly in the Kordofan area where fighting between rival forces has escalated.

Reports indicate that recent attacks have hit populated locations such as markets, roads, and shelters for displaced people, leaving entire communities devastated. In many cases, women and children have been among the casualties, with dozens killed in single incidents.

UN officials say the increasing use of drone warfare by both sides in the conflict has made it harder for civilians to find safety, even far from active frontlines. The situation has also worsened humanitarian conditions, with thousands forced to flee their homes amid continuing insecurity.

The global body has urged all parties involved in the war to respect international humanitarian law and avoid targeting civilians, stressing that the rising death toll reflects a deepening humanitarian catastrophe in the country.
