Authorities in Ogun State have apprehended operators of a diagnostic facility following an incident in which a woman was reportedly given an incorrect medical scan result that nearly led to a serious health crisis.

The patient was said to have been wrongly diagnosed after undergoing tests at the laboratory, prompting panic and the possibility of unnecessary medical intervention. However, further checks reportedly revealed that the initial findings were inaccurate, sparing her from potential harm.

Security agencies subsequently moved in to investigate the facility, leading to the arrest of those responsible for conducting the scan. Officials say the case has raised fresh concerns about the reliability of diagnostic services and the dangers posed by unregulated or negligent medical practices.

Health authorities have emphasized the importance of proper standards and oversight in medical laboratories, noting that false diagnoses can have life-threatening consequences if not quickly identified.

Investigations are ongoing as regulators work to determine the extent of the alleged malpractice and whether additional sanctions or closures will follow.
