Authorities in Cross River State have activated emergency health protocols following the confirmation of a new COVID-19 case involving a foreign national, raising fresh concerns about the virus.
Health officials revealed that ten individuals who had close interaction with the infected patient have been identified and placed under isolation as part of precautionary measures. Contact tracing began immediately to curb any potential spread of the disease.
The patient, a Chinese expatriate, was said to have developed symptoms weeks after arriving in the country and later tested positive. He is currently receiving medical attention while those exposed are being closely monitored.
