The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a fresh round of precision air operations in the North-East, targeting suspected insurgent strongholds inside the Sambisa Forest. Military authorities say the mission resulted in the destruction of key hideouts and supply facilities used by armed groups operating in the area.
According to defence sources, the strike was based on intelligence surveillance that identified active militant positions hidden within fortified structures. Air assets reportedly engaged the locations with coordinated attacks, leaving behind destroyed shelters and disrupted logistics networks believed to support terrorist activities.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the military to intensify pressure on insurgents in the region and weaken their ability to regroup or launch attacks against surrounding communities. Officials also noted that follow-up assessments confirmed significant damage to the targeted facilities.
Security operations in the North-East have continued in recent weeks as the armed forces maintain what they describe as sustained offensives against remaining extremist enclaves.
