The incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m., when the assailants reportedly stormed the facility and opened fire on personnel carrying out official duties.

An intelligence officer with the Gidan Waya Command, Gaji Ampot, who confirmed the attack, said the gunmen struck from multiple directions.

“One of the attackers came on a motorcycle from one side, while others approached on foot from another direction and began shooting,” he explained.

According to Ampot, four of those killed were security personnel, while the fifth victim was a student who had visited the office to resolve an issue.

The three injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
