The Federal Government has called on South African authorities to ensure better protection for Nigerians living in the country following the reported killing of two Nigerian nationals.

Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in South Africa raised concern over the incident and urged a swift and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Officials also stressed the need for stronger security measures to prevent further attacks on foreign nationals.

The call comes amid growing anxiety within the Nigerian community in South Africa, where cases of violence involving Nigerians have continued to spark diplomatic attention and public outcry.

Authorities in Abuja reiterated that the safety of Nigerians abroad remains a priority and insisted that host countries must uphold their responsibility to protect all residents, regardless of nationality.

The Nigerian mission further appealed for calm while investigations continue, while also engaging South African officials on possible steps to improve security and accountability.
