Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has raised fresh concerns over the state of the nation, describing Nigeria as a country in serious decline that urgently needs capable leadership.
Speaking on the current situation, Obi lamented that worsening conditions across key sectors reflect deep-rooted governance challenges. He stressed that the country is in dire need of leaders who can steer it toward recovery and sustainable development.
The former presidential candidate pointed to persistent economic struggles, insecurity, and institutional weaknesses as signs that the nation is drifting further from stability. According to him, without decisive and responsible leadership, the situation could deteriorate even further.
Obi’s remarks add to ongoing national conversations about governance and accountability, as many Nigerians continue to express concerns over hardship and the direction of the country. He emphasized that meaningful change would require a renewed commitment to transparency, competence, and people-focused policies.
His statement is the latest in a series of criticisms from opposition voices calling for improved leadership to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
