Supporters of Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, have raised N50 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form for him ahead of the 2027 elections.

The contribution was made by members of the party under the platform of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee for Shehu Buba Governorship 2027.

Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Alhaji Muhammadu Sade, said the decision followed extensive consultations and careful assessment of the political landscape in Bauchi State.

“After wide consultations and thorough deliberations, we have unanimously resolved to support and present a credible, competent, and people-oriented aspirant for the governorship of Bauchi State,” he said.

Sade explained that the N50 million raised to purchase the nomination form reflects the group’s confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership and commitment to public service.

“This gesture is not merely financial; it is symbolic. It shows our total confidence in his leadership capacity, proven track record, grassroots connection, and dedication to the welfare of the people,” he added.

He noted that Senator Buba Umar has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and a clear understanding of the challenges facing the state, expressing belief that his vision aligns with the aspirations of the people.

According to the group, their support is driven by a desire to reposition Bauchi State for sustainable development, economic growth, improved infrastructure, better education, enhanced healthcare, and inclusive governance.
