Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has restated his administration’s dedication to delivering even greater dividends of democracy to the people of the state. He made this pledge on Sunday, July 13, during a church service at the Christian Pentecostal Mission International Headquarters, located on Elizabeth Avenue, GRA, Aba. The Governor assured worshippers that his government remains focused on deepening the progress achieved in its first two years in office.
Addressing the enthusiastic congregation, Governor Otti expressed heartfelt appreciation for their consistent support dating back to 2015. He noted that the visible developmental strides so far are only the beginning of the transformational changes Abians should expect, promising that the coming years would bring even more impactful governance. He also praised the church, under the leadership of Rev. F.N. Daniels, for building a magnificent worship center and assured them of his continued support toward its completion.
In a written address presented to the Governor, the church described him as a divine instrument chosen to positively reshape the state’s destiny. They lauded several of his major achievements, including the reconstruction of the long-neglected Port Harcourt Road in Aba. Other ongoing road projects such as Obohia Road, Ohanku Road, and the road leading to the church were also cited as testimonies of his people-centered leadership.
The preacher of the day, Rev. Victor Duwem, shared a personal testimony about his smooth journey on a newly tarred road from Eketa to Nvosi, a road he said was previously impassable before Governor Otti’s intervention. Preaching on the theme “Living to Please God,” Rev. Duwem emphasized faith, obedience, and consistent service to God as paths to divine favor, noting that such a life offers protection from shame and evil.
As the service concluded, the church offered special prayers for Governor Otti, his family, and his administration. They pledged their steadfast support for his leadership beyond 2027 and prayed that God would elevate him to higher national service. Governor Otti was accompanied by several top government officials and political leaders, including Labour Party State Acting Chairman Sir Emmanuel Nweze Oti, state lawmakers, and local government mayors.
