In a bid to strengthen internal accountability and uphold professional standards, 151 senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force are currently appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various unresolved disciplinary issues.

Confirming the development, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the proceedings began on July 14 and will run through July 25, 2025, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“The Force Disciplinary Committee plays a vital role in reviewing and adjudicating cases involving alleged misconduct, ethical breaches, and violations of professional conduct among officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and above,” Adejobi stated.

He noted that the officers under review were drawn from different commands and formations across the country and would be subjected to a fair and transparent process in accordance with existing police regulations. Final recommendations will be forwarded to the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to discipline and ethical standards within the Force. He stressed that acts of misconduct or indiscipline would not be tolerated under his leadership.

The Police Force emphasized its dedication to fostering integrity, professionalism, and public trust, adding that the ongoing disciplinary process underscores its determination to remain a service-driven and accountable institution that respects the rule of law internally.
