The Ondo G-4 chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated Professor Ebunoluwa Aderonke Adejuyigbe on her historic appointment as the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo.
In a statement, NANS Ondo G-4 described her appointment as a groundbreaking milestone that not only advances gender inclusivity in academic leadership but also serves as a source of inspiration for young women across Ondo State and Nigeria.
“Professor Adejuyigbe’s emergence as Vice Chancellor is a testament to her exceptional dedication, remarkable leadership, and outstanding contributions to medical education and research in Nigeria,” the association stated. “We are confident that her tenure will drive UNIMED to greater heights as a hub of academic excellence and innovation, particularly in tackling the evolving health challenges of our society.”
The student body also commended Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his commitment to gender equality and support for women in leadership roles. “Governor Aiyedatiwa’s progressive approach to gender representation has made this historic feat possible. His dedication to inclusiveness is shaping a more equitable and forward-thinking Ondo State,” the statement added.
NANS pledged its full support for Professor Adejuyigbe’s administration and expressed readiness to partner with UNIMED on student-oriented programs that will enhance academic engagement and contribute to the state’s overall development. “We look forward to the transformative impact of her leadership on both the university and the wider community.
