Umuahia, Abia State – The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, has honored two police officers attached to his office with a decoration ceremony following their recent promotions. The event, held at the Government House in Umuahia, celebrated the officers’ dedication and exemplary service.
The promoted officers include Bassey John (from Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police), a native of Uruan LGA, Akwa Ibom State, and Chukwuma Desmond (from Police Corporal to Sergeant), hailing from Bende LGA, Abia State.
Deputy Governor Emetu commended the officers for their professionalism and urged them to uphold integrity and discipline in their duties. “This promotion is a testament to your hard work. Do not relent in your commitment to protecting lives and property,” he said.
ASP Bassey John, speaking on behalf of the officers, praised Governor Alex Otti for prioritizing security and pledged continued loyalty to the state and nation.
The ceremony was attended by security officials and aides of the Deputy Governor, including representatives from the Government House security team.
