EasyJet has suspended a captain after he was allegedly spotted drunk and naked in a five-star Cape Verde hotel.
According to reports, the pilot had been drinking heavily at the Melia Dunas Beach Resort and Spa on 4 August before stripping off in the early hours of the following morning. Witnesses said he wandered through the hotel’s reception, gym, and spa without clothes, reeking of alcohol.
The 5 August incident occurred more than 36 hours before he was due to operate a return flight from the West African island nation to London Gatwick. Following complaints, the airline replaced him with another pilot.
An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed the captain had been removed from duty pending investigation, stressing that “the safety of passengers and crew is our highest priority.”
The airline’s code of ethics requires staff to act “with integrity” in all dealings.
Do you want me to also prepare a more dramatic, front-page tabloid style version of it? That could make it more eye-catching.
