Police to Enforce Tinted Glass Permits Nationwide from October 2

The Jigawa State Police Command has announced that enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence nationwide on October 2, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday in Dutse by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam. He noted that online registration and application for the permits are ongoing via possap.gov.ng, and urged motorists to carefully follow the outlined steps for a seamless process.

Applicants are required to create an account using their NIN, BVN, or TIN, verify their email, log in to select the tinted glass permit service, and upload vehicle details along with relevant documents. Once submitted, the process continues with vehicle inspection and biometric fingerprint capturing at designated Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Departments. For Jigawa applicants, the biometric exercise will be conducted free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.

SP Adam warned against dealing with unauthorised individuals posing as agents, stressing that the initiative is designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and road safety. He further called on the public to comply with the directive and begin registration early, as proper documentation will protect motorists and help curb illegal window tinting.
