Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has advised the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, to concentrate on his legislative duties rather than dabbling in state politics ahead of the 2027 elections. Governor Otti made the remark while reacting to recent comments by Kalu concerning the performance of the Abia State Government and its handling of federal allocations.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists at the Government House in Umuahia, Otti cautioned the federal lawmaker against making politically motivated statements that could mislead the public. He urged Kalu to channel his energy into representing the collective interests of Nigerians at the National Assembly instead of engaging in premature political battles.

“Benjamin Kalu should focus on his job at the National Assembly. When 2027 comes, Abians will decide who leads them,” the governor stated firmly. He stressed that his administration remains dedicated to rebuilding Abia through transparency, prudent resource management, and people-oriented policies.

Governor Otti further reiterated his commitment to good governance and accountability, assuring citizens that his government will continue to deliver tangible results. He maintained that political distractions will not derail his administration’s mission to transform Abia into a model state where development, integrity, and progress take precedence over political rivalry.
