Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong has handed out financial assistance to more than a thousand students from different institutions across Cross River South. The initiative aims to support students with expenses related to their education.

Each student received N110,000, which included an extra N10,000 added to help cover meals and other immediate needs during the event. Beneficiaries included undergraduates, postgraduates, and students from universities, colleges of education, health technology institutions, and schools of nursing.

Speaking at the ceremony, the senator urged the students to make wise use of the funds and remain focused on their academic pursuits. He also encouraged them to draw inspiration from ongoing development efforts in the state and the country.

Student representatives expressed their gratitude, noting that the support would ease some of the financial pressures they face. Many recipients described the gesture as timely and impactful, promising to use it responsibly.
