President Bola Tinubu has called on the United Kingdom to strengthen its partnership with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing the need for closer collaboration to address growing security threats.

During an official engagement in the UK, Tinubu noted that the rise of insurgency across West Africa, particularly in the Sahel region, poses serious risks to stability. He stressed that Nigeria remains a key player in maintaining regional security and requires sustained international support.

The President highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and strategic cooperation between both countries to effectively tackle extremist activities and prevent their spread.

He further explained that Nigeria is dealing with complex security challenges fueled by cross-border threats, making it necessary for allies like the UK to step up assistance in combating terrorism.

Tinubu’s discussions with British officials focused on enhancing defence ties and building a more robust security framework between the two nations.

The visit reflects Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to secure stronger global partnerships aimed at protecting lives, strengthening national security, and promoting peace across the region.
