Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged traditional rulers in Nigeria’s South-East and South-South regions to champion justice, fairness, and unity within their communities. He emphasized that their leadership roles place them in a strong position to influence peace and stability at the grassroots level.

Speaking at a gathering of monarchs, the governor highlighted the importance of collaboration among regional leaders, noting that collective efforts are essential for addressing common challenges and fostering development. He encouraged the rulers to work together in strengthening harmony across ethnic and cultural lines.

Otti also stressed that traditional institutions remain vital in maintaining order and guiding societal values. According to him, fairness in decision-making and justice in resolving disputes are key responsibilities that can help build trust among the people.

He further called on the monarchs to use their influence to discourage division and promote peaceful coexistence, adding that sustainable progress in the regions depends largely on unity and responsible leadership at all levels.
