Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has condemned several All Progressives Congress (APC) governors who recently appeared in a widely shared video praising Bola Tinubu amid ongoing insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria.
Sowore described the governors as “shameless” for commending the president in the clip at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with violent crime, kidnappings, and other serious security challenges that have persisted under the current administration. He argued that it is inappropriate for political leaders to publicly applaud the president while citizens continue to face daily threats to their safety and livelihoods.
According to Sowore, the video shows a disconnect between government officials and the realities on the ground. He stressed that leaders should be focused on addressing insecurity and hardship rather than participating in political praise.
Sowore’s comments reflect broader frustration among some opposition figures and citizens who feel government responses to national security concerns have been inadequate. His criticism adds to ongoing debates about governance and accountability ahead of the 2027 general elections.
