The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) has cautioned the public against a viral flyer falsely claiming it is offering agricultural training scholarships and a N500,000 business grant in partnership with Fidelity Bank Plc.
In a statement issued by its Coordinator-General, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the programme described the advert as fake and the work of fraudsters aiming to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians.
According to Iyere, the flyer misleadingly carries the logos of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and Fidelity Bank, creating a false sense of legitimacy. He clarified that YEIDEP has no such initiative or collaboration as being circulated online.
He urged the public to disregard the message, warning that it is designed to facilitate financial scams.
Iyere further explained that all official information about YEIDEP’s activities is communicated through recognised national newspapers and the official platforms of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, including updates from the Minister’s office.
The programme reiterated its commitment to transparency and advised Nigerians to verify any claims about its schemes through credible and official sources before taking action.
“Members of the public should ignore the flyer and treat it as a fraudulent attempt to exploit unsuspecting individuals,” the statement said.
