Outcry in Anambra as Family Alleges Critical Illness of Detained Relative

Relatives of a man being held by a security outfit in Anambra State have expressed deep concern over his deteriorating condition, alleging that his health has worsened significantly since his arrest in March.

According to the family, the detainee has reportedly begun showing alarming symptoms, including coughing up blood and signs of internal complications, while still in custody. They claim his situation has not received urgent medical attention despite repeated pleas.

The man was said to have been taken into custody by operatives of the state-backed security group without clear explanation, a move the family insists lacked due process. They maintain that he has remained detained for weeks without formal charges or access to proper care.

The development has sparked renewed concerns over the treatment of individuals held by local security outfits, with calls for authorities to investigate the case and ensure the detainee receives immediate medical assistance.
