ADO EKITI, Nigeria – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed strong confidence in the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, declaring that the party has already secured victory ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
Yilwatda made the statement on Monday during the official launch of the APC campaign in Ado Ekiti. Addressing party supporters, he said the election was as good as won, urging members to maintain momentum across all levels.
“Take a bow because victory is already ours. We will win from ward to ward, village to village, and across all local governments,” he said.
Governor Oyebanji, alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye, is seeking a second term on the APC platform.
The campaign event drew the presence of several APC governors, including Hope Uzodinma, Uba Sani, Monday Okpebholo, Sheriff Oborevwori, Usman Ododo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Mohammed Bago, signaling strong party unity.
Uba Sani, who chairs the APC governorship campaign council in Ekiti, described Oyebanji as a high-performing leader and said the election would focus on sustaining ongoing development. “This is about consolidation and building on what has already been achieved,” he noted.
Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, also reaffirmed support for Oyebanji, stating that backing the governor aligns with support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Meanwhile, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, who heads the local campaign organization, praised Oyebanji for fostering unity in the state and emphasized that the campaign would focus on key issues affecting the people.
In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji pledged to expand on his administration’s achievements, crediting the progress so far to the backing of President Tinubu.
