Workers’ Day 2026: Dr Uche Ogah Applauds Resilience of Abia Workers, Hails Otti’s Worker First Policies

Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Ogah, has congratulated workers across Abia State on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day, commending their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the growth of the state and the nation.

Interacting with News Masters Correspondents, Dr Ogah described workers as the backbone of the economy, noting that their sacrifices and commitment remain critical to sustainable development, especially in challenging times.

He praised Abia workers for their unwavering determination and productivity despite prevailing economic difficulties, stating that their efforts continue to keep various sectors of the economy running. According to him, the strength and perseverance of the workforce reflect the true spirit of Abia people.

He commended the efforts of the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, for prioritizing the affairs of Abia workers and improving their welfare. Dr Ogah noted that the governor’s commitment to better working conditions and worker focused policies is a positive step toward enhancing productivity and restoring confidence within the state’s workforce.

Dr Ogah also called on workers to remain committed to excellence, professionalism, and integrity in their respective fields, stressing that national development depends largely on the quality of service delivered by its workforce.

While reaffirming his belief in the potential of Abia State, Dr Ogah encouraged workers to remain hopeful and united, expressing optimism that with collective effort, greater progress and economic stability can be achieved.

He concluded by wishing all workers in Abia State a peaceful and fulfilling May Day celebration, urging them to continue contributing positively to the advancement of society.
