Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, FCA, CON, has again demonstrated his commitment to economic empowerment and grassroots development by distributing hundreds of fully funded Point Of Sale (POS) machines to residents of Abia State.
The empowerment programme, which took place on Saturday at the office of the Abia Rejoice Movement in Umuahia, attracted beneficiaries from different parts of the state, including members of Abia Rejoice Movement, Abia Arise, and several small and medium scale business owners.
Beyond the distribution of the POS terminals, beneficiaries were also assisted in registering their businesses with the appropriate government agencies, while certificates were issued to support their operations and enhance business credibility.
The initiative was widely described by participants as timely and impactful, especially in the face of prevailing economic realities confronting many Nigerians.
Speaking during the programme, Dr. Ogah noted that while government continues to make efforts toward improving the living conditions of citizens, individuals who have been blessed also owe society a responsibility to support others and help reduce hardship.
He stated that empowering people and creating opportunities for self reliance have remained part of his lifelong commitment to humanity and community development.
Many beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Dr. Ogah for what they described as a life changing opportunity capable of helping them establish sustainable means of livelihood and improve their financial stability.
They commended the initiative, describing it as another reflection of Dr. Ogah’s consistent dedication to uplifting the people through practical empowerment programmes aimed at creating jobs, supporting businesses and encouraging economic independence among youths and entrepreneurs in Abia State.
