The Abia APC Progressive Youth Movement (AAPYM) has described Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu as the most decent politician in Abia State, citing his uncommon spirit of sacrifice, commitment to party unity, and issue-based politics devoid of rancour.
In a statement issued in Umuahia, the group said Chief Mascot Kalu demonstrated exemplary leadership during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary process when he voluntarily stepped down from the race in the interest of peace, unity, and the overall success of the party.
According to the youth movement, his decision to put the party above personal ambition remains one of the most selfless political sacrifices witnessed in Abia State in recent times, adding that the move helped strengthen the APC and prevented unnecessary divisions among party faithful.
The group noted that unlike many politicians who resort to bitterness and hostility after political contests, Chief Mascot Kalu has continued to promote reconciliation, inclusiveness, and constructive engagement, earning him respect across party lines.
AAPYM further described him as a strong advocate of good governance whose political philosophy is centered on service to the people, accountability, and development. The youths also commended his unwavering support for the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and prosperity.
The movement stated that Chief Mascot Kalu’s humility, accessibility, philanthropic activities, and dedication to the welfare of ordinary citizens have distinguished him as a leader worthy of emulation by the younger generation.
The Abia APC Progressive Youth Movement therefore called on political leaders across the state to embrace the culture of sacrifice, civility, and statesmanship exemplified by Chief Mascot Kalu, whom it described as a shining example of decent and progressive politics in Abia State.
