The Nigeria Police Force has successfully commissioned 10,000 newly trained constables following the completion of rigorous training at various police colleges and institutions across the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the Passing Out Parade took place simultaneously on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, marking a major milestone in the police’s efforts to bolster manpower and strengthen operational capacity.
Addressing the recruits, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun commended their dedication throughout the intensive training period and urged them to uphold the values of honour, diligence, and patriotism as they commence their service.
“The IGP charged the new constables to carry the principles instilled during their training, which include professionalism, ethical conduct, and commitment to public service,” Hundeyin stated.
The training curriculum focused on modern policing techniques, community partnership, intelligence-led operations, respect for human rights, and responsible use of authority aimed at equipping the recruits for the challenges of 21st-century law enforcement.
This batch of constables forms part of the Nigeria Police Force’s strategic plan to improve security presence, enhance response capacity, and foster public trust nationwide.
Earlier this year, in January 2025, the police also graduated another set of 10,000 constables as part of ongoing manpower development efforts under the current administration.
IGP Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to continuous training, improved welfare for officers, and institutional reforms to sustain the gains of modern policing and ensure a safer Nigeria for all citizens.
