Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has announced that President Bola Tinubu and U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to meet soon to address growing allegations of Christian killings in Nigeria.

Bwala, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, made the revelation while reacting to Trump’s recent remarks accusing the Nigerian government of ignoring attacks on Christians.

He said both leaders are committed to tackling terrorism and insurgency, recalling that Trump had previously supported Nigeria by approving the sale of military equipment.

“President Trump helped Nigeria by authorising arms sales, and President Tinubu has effectively used them in the fight against terrorism, with visible results,” Bwala stated.

He added that the meeting, to be held either in Abuja or Washington, would clarify whether Nigeria’s terror attacks are religiously targeted or indiscriminate.

Meanwhile, U.S. Congressman Riley Moore urged Nigeria to act swiftly, warning that Washington would no longer overlook violence against Christians.

“President Trump has given fair warning. If the killings continue, the U.S. will not stand by,” Moore wrote on X.

On Saturday, Trump claimed he had instructed the Pentagon to prepare for potential military action in Nigeria, accusing the Tinubu administration of “failing to protect Christians.”

In a fiery post, Trump said the U.S. might suspend aid to Nigeria and “go in guns-a-blazing” if the situation persists, describing any strike as “fast, vicious, and sweet.”

His statement followed his declaration of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” for alleged persecution of Christians, a move sharply rejected by President Tinubu, who insisted that the label “does not reflect Nigeria’s reality as a nation of religious tolerance.”
