President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA).
The appointment, which took effect on April 16, 2026, is for an initial term of four years. This was disclosed in a statement issued on April 20, 2026, by Chris Ugwuegbulam, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the appointment aligns with the provisions of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.
Dr. Zuntu is recognised as a public health expert and policy strategist with a strong record in implementing impactful national programmes.
President Tinubu has charged her to deploy her experience and expertise in advancing the agency’s mandate and contributing to national development.
